The AgeOfElysian server launch of summer 2016 is by far my favourite gaming memory, nothing comes close. The forum post that announced the server opening. Needless to say, I hopped on to AoE's forum, and it just so happened that they were planning their big relaunch when the release of SF4 hit! So now I had 2 release dates that I was waiting for. Finally I knew what server I should check up on. At the same time I was a bit worried that I wouldn't find a server that was running it, as it was a pretty underground plugin at the time. Each day I wondered when the plugin was going to be released. I immediately subscribed to The Busy Biscuit's channel and followed his sneak peek videos religiously. Months later, I saw something strange in my Youtube sidebar, and it was this one video:Īt first I had no idea what it was about, but moments later, I figured out what it was: Slimefun was releasing a big new version and these were the sneak peeks, from the developer himself! I knew something big was happening. Ultimately though, I had to leave AoE for a while, since life got in the way. Automation, magic, factories, custom items! I decided to research the plugin and learn about it. The sheer scope of it was mind-boggling and not like anything I had ever seen before. Needless to say, when I first joined AgeOfElysian, I was blown away by this plugin. This is where Slimefun comes into play and solves all the aforementioned issues. But most importantly, sadly, a modded playthrough is usually a lonely experience.
#ELYSIAN EXPLOIT DISCORD MODS#
most mod(pack) developers mostly expect you to know your stuff when you are thrown head-first into a mod, and playing a modpack without knowing the mods is usually disastrous, as there is no sense of direction. Second of all, it's not really made with coherency in mind.

Even the most powerful gaming computer chokes and dies from the more tech intensive modpacks. First of all, modded mineraft is way more resource intensive than normal vanilla minecraft. Now, playing modded minecraft has some issues. Modpacks are even cooler, with several mods becoming some sort of coherent gameplay experience, basically becoming an entirely different game. Modding is cool, right? Adds new items, blocks, mobs etc to the game. It's hard to explain Slimefun, like really hard. It was a chaotic community that had formed around this mystical server, and the crown jewel of this server, was the plugin Slimefun. I thought I had mastered the world of minecraft multiplayer, but all these years I had just been scratching the surface.

I was looking for a new towny server to join one boring afternoon in 2015, and I came across one with a pretty flashy title, AgeOfElysian. I thought "this is as good as it gets, this is perfection". I played on many Towny servers, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. Towny, however, stands as a proud champion of the soul of Minecraft: a bunch of people joining up as a town and creating something beautiful. To me, Factions is the corrupted side of Minecraft, which is against all that the game stands for. They represent the two diametrical sides of the minecraft playerbase. Everyone knows that you are either a faction player or a towny player, and it's not hard to see why. I had a favourite plugin, and that was Towny. The friends I made over the course of different servers lifespans were like mentors to me, and one day, I became the mentor myself, showing people new to the game the world of minecraft multiplayer.Ī big part of this were plugins. It was a whole new world of mystical additions to the game, and it felt as if I was playing something else entirely. After playing singleplayer for a week or so, I finally worked up the courage to start playing online on servers. The game was brimming with soul, and I remember being so hyped for the game's development.

I've played minecraft for a long time, started back in 1.2. I'll give you some context to why I'm in love with this server and why I think you should try it out.
